Green Man

The Green Man, or spirit of the forest, is a representation of the god of vegetation and plant life used by several pre-Christian religions to celebrate the harvest, and the passage of Winter into Spring, and symbolizes the life found in the natural world of plants and all growing things. He is considered protector of the forest, and a living embodiment of the natural cycle of death and rebirth that comes with the seasons. We paint this theme as it is shown in classic art through the centuries, as a human face composed of, and surrounded by, dense green foliage.

This theme's primary color palette is one of greens, browns, and other earth tones. A full range of greens and browns are the main hues, with golds, yellowe, and ochres also feature in this theme. Gold and other metallic colors may be used as accents or borders.
